Comment on James Fadiman Discusses the Many Benefits of Microdosing by John Robertson http://psychedelicfrontier.com/james-fadiman-microdosing/#comment-784 Tue, 23 Jan 2018 21:27:00 +0000 http://psychedelicfrontier.com/?p=4179#comment-784 Jim Fadiman is doing great work in the psychedelic world. I was volunteering as ‘room manager’ for his talk at Altered and it was absolutely rammed! If anyone wants to read about the conference I wrote a piece about it on my blog :) http://mapsofthemind.com/2017/12/12/uniquely-altered-psychedelic-conference-berlin/

Comment on How to Prepare a Spiritual DMT Ceremony in 5 Steps by Don http://psychedelicfrontier.com/how-prepare-spiritual-dmt-ceremony/#comment-783 Sun, 14 Jan 2018 13:07:00 +0000 http://psychedelicfrontier.com/?p=1952#comment-783 Thanks a lot for your answer!!
Well as far as it comes to preparation I really learned my lesson. Somehow when I was going for aya ceremonies (that I went 2 times to but none of those were even close to anything I experienced on DMT) I was preparing myself for weeks and I loved doing it. But Probably the fact that DMT was so easy accessible I went for it without any preparation whatsoever. Needless to say, never again.

And now after this trip I really understand what horrible things can wait for me, but somehow I am pretty sure if I will prepare myself well and do it really properly, I could experience the beautiful side of it as well. Now I am really afraid of death, since I’ve seen one of the options what can happen and that option is frightening. I want to see another possibility, to see that it might be different. I don’t really like the feeling of living a life that is meaningless towards death which I am afraid of. I want to experience life at its fullest and be happy when it’s my time to go. And I feel if I will see the other side of DMT, I might get a relief on it..

Surprise, surprise, the seller knows what he’s selling, but most of the people walking around wouldnt have a clue.. study what that plant looks like. Although its my favourite mind altering plant, I rarely do it, Dont need to. So after 13 yrs of not doing it, tonight is the night again with a good mate. Im looking for answers again, and Salvia definitely gives you answers. This plant should be done by all of humanity. Oh what a wonderful world it would be. I believe there would be no more crime, addiction or malice in the world… This is NOT a recreational ‘drug’, and should not be done during the day by teenage fools on their front lawns for all the neighbours to see, as seen on youtube. Thats what gives it a bad rap. Its to be respected, the the old “R” word.. Peace out, Hello from Oz.

Well, I’m not a psychologist or a shaman, and I don’t know you personally, so take this with a grain of salt. But based on what you said of your first major dose I would say yes, you should DEFINITELY have a sitter for your next experience in the interest of personal safety. Second, you should take a lesson from your nightmare experience and prepare properly for your journey — DMT is not something you do as an afterthought in the wake of beer, weed, and ecstasy.

As for your troubles dosing, I would personally chalk that up to poor technique rather than “a sign” from the DMT guides. It’s a tricky business getting it to vaporize properly. Sounds to me like it wasn’t a lack of material, but you just didn’t get it hot enough the first few go-rounds. If you’re dead-set on taking more DMT, you should work on your technique with lower doses before blasting into hyperspace with gigantic doses. There is no hurry.

And lastly I would invite you to ask yourself why, after such a harrowing experience, you are drawn to try it again? More nightmares may await you. What takes you back to that place? Mere curiosity or something more? Is there something you’re looking for — and are you convinced this substance is the best way to get it?

Comment on Ayahuasca: A Skeptic’s Notes by Wes Hansen http://psychedelicfrontier.com/ayahuasca-skeptics-notes/#comment-779 Tue, 02 Jan 2018 22:00:00 +0000 http://psychedelicfrontier.com/?p=4273#comment-779 One final comment for clarity. Ontologically speaking there is no difference between Nirvana and Samsara; the birth/death cycle exists in Nirvana same as in Samsara, the difference being, a sentient being who manifests in Nirvana, i.e. a Buddha, does not succumb to the illusion of the time-bound self because their awareness, hence, their system of epistemology, is grounded in the realization of their own infinite duration, their own eternal nature. The mind is liberated in the Great Unborn Expanse and what it’s liberated from is the ignorance which sustains the illusion. And every spiritual tradition says the exact same thing!

Returning to the Judeo-Christian metaphor, the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life both exist in the one-same Garden, the difference being, the Tree of Knowledge, having succumbed to the illusion, fails to recognize the Garden for what it is; its awareness, hence, its system of epistemology, is grounded in Fear and Desire, the guardians at the gate. For a more faithful metaphor, the Tree of Knowledge should be depicted on the same side of the gate as the flaming sword and the guardians. The gate, in this metaphor, represents the Heart Chakra. In the Chakra system there are three “profane” Chakras below the Heart center and three “divine” Chakras above; these Chakras are correlated with one another – the base of the spine with the throat, the sex organs with the pineal gland, and the solar plexus with the crown. When the Serpent Power is concentrated below the Heart center we manifest in ignorance, when above in Wisdom.

When the Kundalini actually awakens, the earliest indicator is a tingling in the lower extremities followed immediately by an intense erection; as the Kundalini rises one feels a warmth moving up the torso and bodily awareness below the warmth seems to expand asymptotically. At the pineal gland one experiences rapid eye movement and it is best, when just beginning, to use a Mandala or equivalent to lock the gaze so this doesn’t happen, since it can cause the Kundalini to fall back dormant.

The Sikhs of India have a very well developed Kundalini yoga designed specifically to induce this experience. In the Vajrayana tradition, which I practice, we use tummo yoga. Tummo yoga, like all Vajrayana practice, utilizes a great deal of visualization and is practiced in conjunction with deity yoga, so to practice tummo one must receive an empowerment from a lineage holder, i.e. a guru.

Harvard cardiologist, Herbert Benson, and his former grad student, Sara Lazar, have studied Kundalini and tummo yogins/yoginis in considerable depth (https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2002/04/meditation-dramatically-changes-body-temperatures/). Benson placed tummo yogins in a room maintained at 40 degrees and draped bed-sheets soaked in ice water over their torso and each yogin dried three bed-sheets in succession using nothing but the heat generated by tummo. Western medical science is unable to explain this phenomena; Benson’s explanation is that the yogins are somehow able to access energy from brown fatty deposits much like hibernating bears. Given the caloric content of brown fat and the substantial calories necessary to perform the feat, one would think that these yogins would lose an easily detectable amount of weight; but, of course, since Wikipedia tells us there is no scientific evidence for subtle energies, the brown fatty hypothesis must be true!

In his Psycho-Energetic science, Will Tiller uses Gauge Theory as a mathematical analogy. Both Quantum Electro-dynamics and Quantum Chromo-dynamics, which comprise the Standard Model of particle physics, are Quantum Field Theories and all such theories are Gauge theories. Physicists use Gauge theory because it facilitates the interaction of both global and local symmetries. A symmetry in mathematics is a transformation which leaves the mathematical structure being transformed invariant, i.e. the same. In physics, these symmetries often represent constraints on the physical system at effective energies; for instance, both conservation of energy and conservation of momentum are represented by symmetries. Symmetries can be both hidden and revealed; for instance, according to the Standard Model, at very high energies and prior to interacting with the Higgs field, all sub-atomic particles have the same mass. This is a symmetry since at these high energies one can interchange particles and the system remains invariant. At a certain energy threshold, the particle fields interact with the Higgs field, the symmetry is hidden (broken), and the particles obtain their distinct masses.

The Higgs particle is a gauge boson, a mathematical entity required to make the Gauge theory work. In Will Tiller’s theory, the coupler mechanism he names the deltron is a gauge boson which reveals symmetry rather than hiding it! Essentially what we do when we engage the flaming sword, is we increase the density of deltrons in our immediate environment past a certain threshold and this enables the raising of the gauge symmetry state of our acupuncture meridian system. This is what enables the Siddhi Powers, such as the heat generated during tummo.

In closing, I myself am an agent of La Madre and have been for many lifetimes. I used deity yoga to establish my relationship with La Madre but La Madre is La Madre! My true name, the Medicine name She bestowed upon me, is Walks With Turtle (https://atomicdecompositions.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-shadow-i-walk-in-shadow-of.html). I enjoyed the article and especially appreciated the truthfulness, something this world could use more of in my opinion!

I feel a great deal better now although I had to run a systems check on my own paranoia generator – maybe I’ve been hanging out on the science blogs a bit too much! Some of them can be rather discourteous when it comes to contrary viewpoints! I am going to post a clarifying comment related to previous which also contains a couple of links; hopefully it comes through . . .

I assure you I don’t object to either of your comments! I just checked Disqus and your previous comment had been automatically marked as spam — I suspect because it contained so many links. I’ve reinstated it.

I’m the editor and not the author of this article, but to answer your question I have not read The Embodied Mind and I was also unaware of Will Tiller’s work. Looks like a lot to investigate here!
